Thank Senator Metzger for Leading on the Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act

The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act: 

  • Sets the most ambitious targets in the nation for reducing greenhouse gas emissions (85% reductions and net zero economy-wide) 
  • Mandates that 100% of our state's electricity will be generated without fossil fuels
  • Directs spending and benefits of New York's climate programs be sent to environmental justice and low-income communities
  • Establishes a critical air-monitoring program to combat harmful air pollution
